I have taken the liberty of copying the detail below (from a reply) and setting up a welcome thread for Annemarie-B

"I was diagnosed 3 years ago and am still mostly in denial. Today is the best I have felt for ages- no pains at all! I am making the most of it."

Hi Annemarie

Welcome to the forum but sorry to learn that you have RA. Glad you have found us and hope you will find lots of benefit from using the forum. It's a great place for information and making friends Smile

I am Lyn, diagnosed with sero-negative RA 22+years ago. Having run the gamut of medications and several surgical procedures along the way I am currently on Enbrel, Prednisolone, Naproxen and Leflunomide (second time round!) and a bucket load of pain killers!! I am married and have four children aged between 16 and 22, all in various stages of education. We live in Thornton Cleveleys in North West Lancashire.

Do keep posting, look forward to getting to know you Smile

Hi Annemarie

I'm Sue -59 and a teacher. I was diagnosed just over a year ago and take mtx, hydroxy and folic acid plus a stomach protector. I've been lucky and have been doing OK, apart from the odd short flare-up, usually when I forget to pace myself. I'm glad you are doing well - that soert of news is always cheering.

Hi Anne-marie

My real name is Julie. I live with my Partner David on a farm in North Devon and have one daughter and two step daughters and step son. Life is busy well it was until this dratted RA slowed me up. I have been trying to fight the pain and stiffness and tiredness for quite some time, at least 2 years, believing that my problem was down to my weight and lifestyle as my GP suggested! I joined the forum a few weeks ago following my diagnosis in October this year. I have just this week started to take Methotrexate, with co-dydramol, ibuprofen and stomach protector. It was a big thing for start taking the MTX as it felt like I had to finally admit it was RA (after years of mis diagnosis). I was very tearful but always feel better when I come on here and check the posts. All the good people on here have really helped me through the past few weeks. Hope you had a good christmas and happy new year. Keep posting.

Love Julie x
